As the little league season begins to wrap up its regular season, it may be hard to predict the final champion, but in Majors division, it seems pretty evident that the top-three teams will be in the race as the league enters playoffs in the next couple of weeks.
The Orioles led by manger Doug Holman, pulled into first place with an overall record of 15-4.
The Cubs led by Rick Tibbett, are in a close second with a record of 13-6. The Yankees, led by Manager Tim Johnson, is currently at third place with a record of 12-7.
Some notable achievements in the Majors division include fourteen homeruns by slugger, Micah Pietila-Wiggs and a perfect game thrown by pitcher Grant Holman.
In the Juniors division, the Dodgers, led by Bob Daily, remain undefeated, and Jake Palet of the Dodgers threw a complete game. Hunter Johnson, and Brendan Hernandez also threw complete games.
In Minor A division, Team Gonzalez, led by Mike Cassanova, is in first place. Team Kennedy, led by Tom Alo is in second place.
Other news in the local little league is that Eastlake Little League has launched an Intermediate division. In this brand new division (ages 13), lead offs are allowed and “Pony rules” apply. The team plays on Sundays and currently has a record of 4-2.
