Eastlake, California is home to a rich tradition of competitive sports for both the youth and adult. With the Olympic Training Center Chula Vista in Eastlake’s backyard, and a world class Gonzalez Sports Academy at the center of Eastlake, sports in Eastlake has taken a life of its own.
On any given weekend Families watch their children compete in Eastlake’s large choice of Youth Sports, while adults in the community enjoy the hundreds of miles and trails and parks. There is something for everyone in Eastlake.
Archery
Archery is the art, practice, or skill of propelling arrows with the use of a bow , from Latin arcus. Historically, archery has been used for hunting and combat, while in modern times, its main use is that of a recreational activity. In 2009, Eastlake’s neighbor, Park View Little League Baseball won the 2009 Little League World Series. Football
Unofficially, the Eastlake area has more football teams per capita than any other area in San Diego. All of the local youth football teams participate in San Diego Youth Football & Cheer’s (SDYF) conference, arguably the most competitive conference in San Diego County. Eastlake boasts two first class golf courses in the area. Eastlake Country Club is a Ted Robinson-designed course that features over 900 trees, six lakes (three with waterfalls) and 72 sand traps. Lacrosse
Lacrosse is a team sport of Native American origin played using a small rubber ball and a long-handled stick called a crosse or lacrosse stick, mainly played in the United States and Canada. It is a contact sport which requires padding. The head of the lacrosse stick is strung with loose mesh designed to catch and hold the lacrosse ball. Primarily dominated by East Coast Schools, the community of Eastlake has embraced the sport.
Soccer
