The Dark At Eastlake

The Dark At Eastlake

Eastlake, CA – When approached by business owner Diana Ocampo, artist Jeff Rankin was excited to be the creative consultant for the very first haunted venue in the South Bay.  Born and raised in the area, Rankin wanted the popular local myths to become an important part of the theme at The Dark.

Jeff enlisted his brother and South Bay resident Chris Rankin who was also inspired by the popular local and major haunted attractions, but mostly driven by their upbringing in the area. In addition to the Rankin brothers, the seasoned local sound and lighting team at Boogie Nights Inc. worked together to help create a vivid haunted experience unlike any in San Diego.

The venue is located in the Eastlake Design District and takes up 16,000 square feet. Reviews have been quite positive, especially for the residents who prefer to stay local and not have to drive far to enjoy this annual tradition.

Ocampo, who owns Total Combat Paintball field in the Otay Ranch mall is thrilled to be part of the vision and management of The Dark.
